The brief provided an open-ended challenge to investigate and creatively interpret the theme of ‘Augmented Life’ and its impact on the human experience. I chose to use spatial augmentations to make an invisible condition visible, educating audiences on the realities of Alzheimer’s disease and providing help.

I developed Memory Lane, an immersive exhibition driven by generative networks in TouchDesigner. I created an interactive system that changes the atrophy of the brain, in order to showcase the decline of brain activity visually, translating the abstract progression of the disease into a physical environment designed to assist learning and build empathy.

The primary output was a large-scale, projection-mapped spatial experience executed with MadMapper. To ground the conceptual artwork in a real-world application, this was supported by a series of printed medical leaflets that utilised the generative networks as practical, educational support tools for caretakers and families.
