Inspired by a growing movement to share Sumo with a global audience, this project gives Japan’s oldest martial art "The Major League Treatment." To elevate the sport's broadcast presence to the commercial level of the NFL or Premier League, I built a cohesive visual identity deeply rooted in its traditions. The custom, geometric typeface draws its structural inspiration directly from the dohyo (the wrestling platform), while the overarching aesthetic is anchored by a traditional Japanese color palette. Brought to life through a kinetic motion language designed to be as aggressive and impactful as the wrestlers’ high-speed collisions, this campaign successfully transforms a historic, niche event into a premium, high-octane international spectacle.
